Click here and I’ll show you how

Exactly, that was the auction that made me wonder.

Angelus 240. Was an alarm. Has (probably Chilean) non alarm plate. Winding gears/clutch from alarm unit so you can’t turn the crown backwards when in winding position.

Unfortunatelly I noticed this one couple of minutes before the end, otherwise I would post it here earlier. It's the second one of this kind I've seen, beside Amperes',which was Angelus branded.Very nice condition, but would be a shame to "canibalize" it just for the movement.

Indeed they are.I find the watch a bit too expensive, though. In case you have to sell the movement sometime in the future, count in the service/repair,etc.,a conversion...And it's an old non-shock protection model from the 40s,those don't reach the same numbers as the later models.Would be a really nice piece of history to own in a collection though,if money is not an issue.

By the way, congrats to the buyer,if he/she is a member here:)

shanghai 2824!
For $20 to get a few replacement movements... hell I've had bad reversing gears etc and it's scrapped a project... I'm not against buying 2 of these from their "US" stock and getting them in a few days.
