Thank you Hyponagia and Yoda .
The level of finish on this movement is beautiful. It was in a garbage box from one of those pawn/gold shops. So the case was full 21karat gold. So was melted and the rest was sent to the garbage really high end pocket watch. On that box I found Piaget, Audemars Piguet 2003, Omega 265, IWC 89 and many others. Brought home those I could and I’m now practicing with them.
Yoda I saw the hairspring but really not sure what to do next. Of course the watch is 200s ahead, beat error 10.2ms (need to touch the balance) but amplitude is good 240. I need to tune this one but should I try to fix the hairspring?

IWC89?! That is one of my favourite movements!
Yes, that part of the hairspring outside the adjustment part must be addressed. If you don't know what to do, don't even do it!

That’s an amazing haul of movements! Might be time for me to call some of the local pawn/gold shops to see if they have similar boxes

They just grab the gold except those high end watch brands.
When I started my journey here at HF, I bought a bouncy of those for like 50€to 100€ and then sold them on eBay. That was how aí started raising money for my builds. They all said that their business was done with the gold, the rest they use as weight when customer are bringing watches. They remove the movement weight and then they give a quote to the customer.

The IWC in the photo is the 88.
All winding and working.

Those are excellent! I know “serious collectors” get grumpy about turning old movements like these into frankenwatches, but if they are functioning well it seems like such a waste to have them just laying around or stripped and sold for parts.
The Angelus I picked up recently only needed a replacement jewel, and it is an ETA 2451 so the rebuild was really easy. Ended up getting a parts watch with a glucidur balance and four more jewels to upgrade it to a 21. Then a case from Raffles, a bracelet I had laying around and Wyler green plexi I’d had for a year waiting for a project. Total cost under $200.
The original case was flimsy and a bit mangled, the Raffles is solid enough to take a beating and even has a window in the back for extra eye candy. I don’t know if I could sell it for more than it cost to make, but it’s fun to wear for summer.

That AP case looks sharp, can’t wait to see how it looks when it’s all together on wrist! That is some really great work, and the 12 o clock crown case is perfect for conversions. Any thoughts on making that one with an exhibition caseback?

Thank you.
Yes I’m thinking on the exhibition case back. Already testing a round screw down case back.
