So now your movement is not cal. 618 as it was described in your first post?madasboot wrote:Bridge design is the same as Rolex cal. 514 (eaton)Kp0y wrote: ↑October 26th, 2022, 9:26 am514, 516, 517 bridge design are same as your movement from Luminor.madasboot wrote: Like what probably happened when you suggested the luminor going from 517 to 516 to 514… probably not only a typo.
I already ammended the original post giving your reference as a movement specialist…
Please forgive me about mention of 616 in my post. I can repeat, all my comments are for your "618"
And do not replace anything in your sale post. Leave it as it was
Compare mine to it below and forget the 517, 516 and 514 (all you pretended mine to be because they are not the same thing.
I already changed my sale post since i do not want to mislead and with typos or not you are so sure of what you want to name it that i credited you as a specialist. Hats off.
Other reason is that you are in HF for longer than me so credited is deserved.
I am a forum member since 2004 (rwc, rwg) but here it is a meaningless fact so…
Thank you for pointing out but it does noe efface the logo and caliber from under the balance wheel or its seven jewels.
We can call it other things but not what you pretend to call 517, 516, or whatever you pretend to lookalike… because they don’t even look like.
Thank you again, but look at the pics below:
1-Mine: 2-a “transitional” Rolex 514 Eaton (same “architecture”, bridges, jewels, etc…) You can end up comparing to your references.
Have a good evening

I'm not a specialist, please
Just can see the difference between cal 6** and cal. 5**

No. Now its a 517 or 516 (as you pretend to lookalike), looking like a Rolex Eaton 514… hopefully it didn’t end up as a moljina ( or is it molnija)Kp0y wrote: ↑October 26th, 2022, 9:58 amSo now your movement is not cal. 618 as it was described in your first post?madasboot wrote:Bridge design is the same as Rolex cal. 514 (eaton)

Re: Two grails - their time has come
If you had the chance to look under the balance wheel, in the ebauche you would see a 6** instead of a 5** therefore i called it a 6**.
And of course i can compare to a Rolex modified Cortebert cal.618 to see that the bridge architecture is different and the 17jewels and 16lignes are the things in common.
If that is incorrect I apologize and hats off.
But you cannot pretend that it looks like a cal.517 or 516 when they are not even similar.
Compare it instead to the Rlx Eaton 514 and see they have exactly the same bridge architecture.
I got your point and ammended the original post.
I dont believe in good or bad sense of humor but mine took me to edit indicating you as the specialist just because i was annoyed by the way my post was suddenly populated with something that i would solve with a pm or call.
This doesn’t mean i do not respect your knowledge (which i do).
Best,
M.

Re: Two grails - their time has come
I can repeat
All concerns was about your naming
Eaton 514 as it is Rolex 618
That's all
It is hard to understand?
I showed you that cal. 5** (any from those, 514, 516, 517 and can have any engravings Eaton or Rolex) have same bridges design as your movement that is used in your Luminor.
If watch is powered by Eaton 514 ok, no problems, just don't sell it as 618.
No need to escalate this as I'm a specialist or I want to ruin your sale.
I'm for naming thigs as they are.
Peace

Please compare screw by screw in both pictures

My bad… not arrogance which I don’t have.
i do not respect your knowledge and work.

All Cort 616s and variants of that I’ve seen either have nothing or just the Cortebert brand stamp only under the balance wheel?
Any chance we could have a look?

Sure you can. You buy the watch, then remove the movement, the balance and take a picture with a macro.rustyscoot wrote: ↑October 26th, 2022, 10:29 am All Cort 616s and variants of that I’ve seen either have nothing or just the Cortebert brand stamp only under the balance wheel?

And then you can share.
Does that sound ok?

Sorry, but now I think we're going in a strange direction. Up until now, everyone has been very kind to you.madasboot wrote:Sure you can. I didn't want to interfere, but I have the feeling that you were already very assertive in your first post and later as soon as questions where posted a bit aggressive.?!?
Does it have to be that way?
Look at your last answer!! A buyer wants proof (for a 2000$ watch) and your answer is: “buy it and then you can check it yourself?!? How sound that?!?
