There is a book on web about it, written by former employee of Chelyabinsk factory...

Yes, I found it. And in his opinion too there is no connection between Cortebert family and 6497...
It seems, that at one point in 2006 Konrad Knirim, without putting to much research into it, mentioned, that 6497 seems to be development of 618... and from that moment on this conjecture was taken for a fact.

No no.... Perezcope mentions relationships between Cortebert 727 and ut 285.
Direct descendant of 285 is 497 and 649x follows 497...
That is only relation (for now

) with cortebert family.
I had no time to read whole Russian article. It is Slavic language and very easy to understand the meaning if Serbian is your mother language.
Hence, still need to use Google translate and then correct it if something is wrong. That makes double reading

So I will leave that for weekend

Yesterday the Bulova I was waiting on finally arrived. From this...

To this...

It wasn't something rare of historical significance. It was unwanted based upon what it sold for. It will have a new life with me as something usable for me. I have no guilt.

Watch looks great!
My mind is now with your comments. It the pocket watch is not historically significant, it is better to be used than sit in box somewhere.
