What it looks like when the new guy has too many ideas and plans running around in his head at once…

From left to right…

-24 hour pilot based off a Swiss 6498, I decided to upgrade to a bigger case and put in some different hands
-River Mille Metri that I need to disassemble and upgrade gaskets, put a new crown stem in, and take care of the rough finish it had when I got it from River. I started but then go to excited to have it all together I never went back
-Tag Monaco Carrera movement with dial and hands that I found cheap. This is how EVERYTHING started. Lots of pieces I still need to build this and many I have no idea how to source. Plus, a few I don’t know yet how to put together… will likely take the longest to finish
-Hamilton GCT. A project that had its roots back in 1999, this one will get its own thread but there’s a lot that’s going to go into it as parts arrive and I wait my turn on a few members’ waiting lists
-Leonidas GSTP military pocket watch. I bought this on a whim because my protection dog’s name is Leonidas. Not sure what I want to do with this one, maybe a vintage-ish dress wrist watch conversion
-Heuer Master-Time 8 day rally clock for auto racing. This started out of the same brainstorming that got the GCT project rolling. I need serious help figuring out the right movement and then if I can even afford it, these dash clocks in running order go for $4,000-5,000. Interesting bit about this case, most were made of plated brass or steel, this one was commissioned by the RAF and it’s made of anodized aluminum, I got it NOS on eBay

I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts and opinions. I have a few different threads asking questions that so just how in over my head I am

Less busy than you’d think waiting for parts, services, knowledge, or the damn USPS… I haven’t done much more than swap straps in ages

After 2 years of contemplating whether or not to build myself a watch.( I just sew straps, and love the historical style of straps and buckles. It's my fetish ) and I wasn't particularly interested in watches.
But my friends NortON,Mike08 managed to change my mind by constantly showing me their new builds. And encouraged me to take the plunge. Completely filled me in. Looked for the right parts and bought them.
Without these guys, none of this would have happened. Thank you guys!!!
And finally D-Day came. The decision was made to assemble 6154. But as close to gen as possible.
Met a great new guy rodeoro outside of HF told me that I was going to do my first homage, and that I didn't know much about it. As it turned out he also started building a 6154 and had an extra dial that just gave it to me.
At that time I could not imagine that so many nuances must be considered to make everything fit together - it seemed that the docking of the Space Shuttles is just a kindergarten compared to finding the right parts and movements and making it all fit together)))
And today I got all the parts I needed.
I'm happy as a kid mostly not even because it's my first build, but because I got to meet such great people.
All that's left to do next is put it together.
