That's nice! However, IMHO a needle file instead of the spring bar tool would illustrate the spirit of H-F better.

In my opinion, the logo must has a recognizable association and be composed of elements that are not replicas or taken from already existing characters, products, or something like that.
My idea is that the HF letters are turn into a movement. That from a piece of metal (in this case, stylized HF letters) are created something "live" .... I think that's ok, as we are already doing that on HF, isn't it? The story can go in the opposite direction, that the movement creates HF ... whatever you like better.... that is the two-way street, it can goes in both directions.
I deliberately chose a movement, as a symbol that is universal and it is impossible to be identify with some other which already exists. I drew it to be an authentic, not downloaded from the Internet or something like that!
Personally, I may be bothered with too much detail ... maybe need to short the whole story. But on the other hand, screws, rubies and other details are an association that makes sense. Perhaps everything needs to be released in two colors black/ white option? I am a drawer amateur, a graphic designer would probably make drawing much simpler than I ... I do not know.... I would like to hear different opinions and good suggestions, I am not compelling or vain and I do not mind any improvement. This is not my own personal project, and I do not take this as a competition, I would like that others think the same way.

I understand that you prefer to do all by hand but maybe you can start the design from a base.

You can get the HF letters started by using an online font generator: search for "steampunk font online generator" or something similar.

You can try installing fonts that you like on your PC too, and then fine tune it by hand. ("Steampunk font" could be a good candidate)

And then, add the jewels, screws, etc.

Just an idea Image

If you are thinking of a big "letter" - I did not want them to be letters. The idea is that they are "pieces of metal" that visually associate to the letters HF. "Homage Forum" is a standard font and it can be changed into anything, I put it just to make the composition complete ....My back is better so I'm back in my workshop and if you have some ideas, feel free to play with my draw  ;)

Just a weird idea.
Your idea and the explanation of it you gave, inspired me a bit.
Would it be possible to shape a movement out of the two letters „HF“?
I am thinking of such a movement with crossed file and strap change tool underneath.
...perhaps a bit pirate like, but then not so far away of our doings ;)
