With my super secret custom made bending tools, naturally ;) Essentially, a hardened nail and a pair of pliers. Place the tang on cutting board, near edge, press it down with the nail, bend up with fingers - cut excess, re-finish the end - bend around buckle with pliers.

I have a design for a tool in mind. I even drew it on paper once...but figured that it would cost hundreds to make 'cause CNC shops are expensive so... the drawing stayed on paper.

i ask as i am making a tool for another fellow, i am trying to figure out a way to send a video... lol

I think the pre-v ones are the ones closest to gen. I spent days studying historical documents about the shape and engravings.
