I got a blank dial from Ross, painted it black, then a thin mist of brown on top before luming, I wanted the lume rough so the for first coat I used a very liquid lume so it bled over the edges, then thinkened up the mix for the top layers,
The look of this gen dial is the kind of rough lume I was aiming for Image
Wow. Many thanks mate. Great job

Building a dress watch for a very good friend of mine, he is turning 40 in a few weeks. He lived with us from time to time when he was a child and teenager, he needed a more calm, balanced and assertive environment back then. I taught him to play the guitar, we went fishing, listened to rock music, went to concerts, talked a lot, watched movies and did all the things guys do.

He is a teacher today, has his own three kids and he is doing well.

Stainless steel case made for Hamilton 10 size movements, Hamilton 921 movement, UT 649X stem, Helenarou dial and original blue hands, 22 mm padded brown handmade strap. Straight forward build, the dial fits perfect without shaving it and the movement sits tight in the ring, a build right up my alley as I hate to adapt everything. Only issue is that I need to have the movement serviced....damn. Better visit the watchmaker soon.

The case back is secured with 6 screws and I heard one of them fall, but I was in the middle of making dinner and hadn't the time to search for it right then.
So, when she who must be obeyed came home I said: "no vacuuming, walking on your bare feet only and if you feel something like the tiniest thing under your feet, stop and see what it is!"
She surprised me, picked up a torch light and searched the floor on all four, not that I didn't enjoy the view....guess what, she found the screw!
Damn, I made all kinds of promises if she could find it. I am in trouble now!
