Yes, it is exciting! Yet still a lot of hoops waiting to be jumped!

As far as it goes now, Emilio provided some very nice drawings to my idea of a piggyback bezel.
Upon having the printed prototype in hands, I‘ll machine both parts to fit and get them to permanently attach to each other. Safest way to me yet would be soldering, maybe brazing with tig. I asked Emilio to design the „piggy-bezel“ to have pilot holes for drilling to size, so I can fit bronze nubbins and the top, lumed dot.

Crystal is, as mentioned the crystaltimes ct101, toofsy posted some nice hands and case...

This won’t be complete without a dial! What should that look like?

Should this be a set for people to mod themselves or a completed watch?

Before there are thoughts of sales involved, I‘d like to have a chat with the mods as well - I have no saying in how this is treated here and while working as an event manager for more than twenty years, I‘m no salesperson... I‘m sure there‘d be someone more qualified for the task on here.
As mentioned earlier, this is a proof of concept and scalability will have to be checked upon.

Other than that - let’s build that prototype

Phaedros the only requirement we established on the forum is not accepting pre-sales nor giving money to the seller before making the parts. Why? because sometimes bad things happen and people end up with no parts and no money on their end. Apart from that, this a joint effort to make it possible so I am not claiming exclusive property over this project :) like they say in Russia: "is our project"

The good thing about using shapeways is that anyone can order a copy of the piece from the comfort of their home :!:

That shouldn't stop you from offering parts refining services :geek:

We are discussing the possibility of getting custom parts ready to be used by just ordering from shapeways.com

In this case, a custom bezel attachment for a regular Seiko so it becomes an Egi-Seiko

This answers almost all of my questions, thank you!
I‘ll get a quote from shapeways now...
As soon as I start working on this, I‘ll do a pictorial on the proceedings, so everyone can decide wether to go build it himself or have a builder‘s assistance for it.

Quote says 20$ for a steel print... order is placed. To be delivered on march the 18th :wtf: I don‘t have that many fingernails that need biting.
