nice dial..I want to fill one old dial I have with resin too. how do you manage it, that the resin will not spoil the top surface of the dial?

I have made a dolly hook that keeps the dial up side on top and I apply the resin from back side ...it stays on due to surface tension between the cutout. Then I slowly sand any the extra resin, will lume and done

In my experience it is even not a problem when the dial is fixed face-down in a movement holder, but much easier in application
I take a small oiler and make a small circle of resin around the index cutout, much like you would do when luming skeleton hands. Then I take a tooth pick with a little bit more resin, let the resin on the tooth pick touch the resin on one end of the index and pull along the index, only touching the resin, never the dial. The surface tension takes care of the rest.

I think resin type is important, not so much because of the flow properties, but because of potting time and bubbles.
I made excellent experiences with Cléopâtre LCC19-720 clear epoxy resin. It is well available in Germany via internet shops.
Super easy to mix and almost no bubbles after mixing. You can work 90 minutes with it, if I remember correctly.
Only downside: it requires 14 days to fully dry...

thanks for the description sounds like lumeing hands, I will give it a try
