Don't know how it was aged, The previous owner didn't even understand how a chronograph works....He thought it was running seconds. This is from kp0y and has the quartz movement which means the subdial at 3 is running 24 hr clock. This one had problems when I bought it and must have been very poorly taken care of, The crystal was dirty on the inside, the stem was broken and the screws that hold the spring bars in are glued in, I think with crazy glue, I tried nail polish remover with acetone but that didn't work. The mineral crystal is very reflective and I'm trying to get it replaced with an AR sapphire crystal, I would also like to replace the hands with gold hands as these are virtually invisible at night. I have also contacted kp0y about building me one with the above listed improvements and an ST19 movement......We will see he seems very busy right now.

Intriguing story. Well good decision to have it restored. I would want to keep the worn out look. I am trying to age mine, so far it didn't work so well

You should ask some of the old timers here at HF about ageing this metal... Maybe also search how to Patina Metal. I got some LIVER OF SULPHUR for a bronze watch but have not had time to experiment yet.

As for my Mare Nostrum, I have been doing a bit of research and found this particular MARE NOSTRUM PAM300 was a pretty common replica available for about $250 with st19. I even found the old quartz version for $100

So its not particular to kp0y after all.
