Agreed! I picked up a couple of Cortebert pocket watches with the plan of converting them to wrist. The finishing on the movements is much better than I expected. Also the dials are incredible, might just keep them as pocket watches when I finish fixing/restoring them.

Also, I read somewhere that the stars indicate the quality of the movement. Can’t find the reference go to back that up though.

At first glance, it looks like a Cortebert cal. 616, but behind the balance I see the UNITAS markings and the numbers 285 and 497.

Does anyone know anything about this movement?

Unitas 285 497 ?

Excellent find! I’ve got one of these movements as well, except it’s signed by Arsa rather than Edox. Like DJ57 noted, it’s pretty much the 6497 but with a different bridge layout. I’m pretty sure the parts are interchangeable between the two. There was a discussion here a year or two ago about this one being the bridge of Cortebert using their own in house movements and the switch to the Unitas/ETA 6497.
Thank you for the useful information.
I just removed the dial and measured the CP size and it still seems to be compatible with the ETA6497.
I really like the shape of the bridge, which looks like a Cal.616.

just on macro noticed, that small bridge is murged together with small cover plate... Image the screws should be flat, and cover for second jewel need to be flatened. some vintage touch needed also...
the crawn wheel core is also absolutely rough, need to be brushed...
