Thanks guys. From a retired watchmaker. The price was too good for me to pass up.

The levers, collet tightener, great set of broaches, cushion, and hand setting tool will be useful. Not too sure what I'm going to use those massive reamers for (The large reamer is over 8mm). I'm taking a guess they are more for clock work. Probably post them up on ebay.

hako, you want some serious horology? lol. I'm in way over my head. I had to buy this a couple weeks ago.

Wanna take a guess what I'm playing with?

No clue at all.
And no wonder for someone who can hardly refit a balance bridge once taken out :D

But, you made me curious.
What is this tool for?

It is a hairspring truing caliper. I'm messing with a Breguet hair spring. Trying to fix it. Like I said, I'm in so far over my head. I am learning there is no doubt about that. Learning what not to do. lol

This is a photo from the "Practical Benchwork for Horologists" by Louis and Samuel Levin.

I realize that I haven‘t realized the true hazards of this hobby yet :-P

Respect, binbin. This must be a valuable hairspring, I reckon.
Good luck!

the hazards of this hobby is gaining too much knowledge over time.

but then sometimes one should not try to do everything oneself.
