The original is quite small and the relation width of the bezel to case size is completely different from the standard Rolex model. So using a vintage submariner style case and slamming a new bezel on would not achieve the right feel.
Would it be considerable to fit a stepped plexi to a vintage sub rep, turn down the original bezel on a lathe and fit/ solder/ glue an overlay to it with the right relation?

Don‘t know if this makes sense... I might have to sketch it.
I would love a zerograph homage

Have you ever seen this watch? It is a Greek company. If remember well the founders are Greeks. Very nice design, imho

Maybe people could get one of my 3D designs printed by Shapeways.com

I could even design something more detailed/complicated than what I already have

I am with Emilio. I like his designs. And 3d print is in a way cost wise.

Shapeways ables you to get things printed in metal with ok results. A simple case might cost 30 - 40 € (without bezel, caseback)

How detailed do they work? Would there be machining required making threads for screw-on casebacks or so? I just checked their site and they offer wax castings as well... didn’t know this - exciting!

I reckon you should do the threads (unless the thread is big) but apart from that it seems very easy to sand the case down to achieve a clean look.

I see... my lathe has no power feed so I can’t do threads. Need more tools! I‘ll mess around with this a little more in my head.
