Aha, the Ventura! It reminds me of that it was a long time ago since I worked on the Hamilton Electrics, quite fun when you understand what it is all about.
It‘s been handed down from my late godfather to my dad to me. I took it to a watchmaker once and he was all over it... he said all it needs is wristtime. My wife spotted me handling it today and I guess I‘ve just lost my hamilton to love

Elvis had one, to name a famous wearer. These are quite fun, half electric and half mechanical. They only have one weak spot and that is where the collector sits, it gets worn and as the diameter wears down the watch runs faster. The good thing is that the part can be refurbished, they are long gone as a sparepart. I only know of one doing this today, apart from me, it is a guy who took over after René Rondeau and he has a site called "Unwind in Time". He is very expensive, something René never was. I was a long time friend of René's and I had one of his books for my birthday several years ago.
