@Mir36 ,
thank you for this detailled post and congrats for this nice build.
So do I was collecting data to design my MILSPEC 1 dial.
Here is the MIL-W-22176A 1961 specification:
http://everyspec.com/MIL-SPECS/MIL-SPEC ... 76A_33172/
They went very far into details:
"The tips of the minute and “second hands shall be curved downward so that, after assembly, parallax is reduced to a minimum"
a lot of usefull details in this document.

@toofsy No I haven’t tried to remove the bezel. I’m hoping some intrepid HFer can figure this out. I’d like to pop the insert out without destroying it and replace the luminous with aged/yellow lume.
But @Ciccio I’ve been here forever! Perhaps I completed most of my builds very early on in the first HF, and am guilty of being dormant. And @madasboot has been on the other fora forever as well.
@Fizzzz, thanks for sharing this! An excellent primary resource. I know you have a fanatical eye for detail. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.Fizzzz wrote: ↑January 27th, 2023, 11:13 am Here is the MIL-W-22176A 1961 specification:

@patnaboy, open up the the watch, measure the dial and rehaut diameters, then send them to @madasboot. I’m sure you can work something out.
@Thrasher , I know you’re a man who gets things done! Can’t wait to see yours

My apologies then! I’m glad you’re dormant no more! LolMir36 wrote:toofsy No I haven’t tried to remove the bezel. I’m hoping some intrepid HFer can figure this out. I’d like to pop the insert out without destroying it and replace the luminous with aged/yellow lume.

@toofsy
I suggest you should gently heat the bezel insert in order to soften the glue and remove it safely.
