I was so fascinated after reading this article on Perezcope I mocked one up j4f. Loved it! Does anyone know who can cnc slots for CG?

i would try it with files and then drill and tap holes - will look a little bit prototype, but thats the wanted look isnt it?

EDIT: install new tube, crown and CG from NW - the Jackson parts are cheap for this project.
