I think you can follow the (SOLD) ebay link above and ask the seller if he know the sources or if he can still get you another one. My 2 cents Image

Maybe you can try your luck by opening a WTB thread here to see any members are willing to let one go.

Best of luck to you!

Just to add because I’m a big fan of bronze. Brass is not the same as bronze and will never patina as
nice ... if looking for that darkening and varied patina of bronze, then brass will be disappointing.

In case anyone is interested, I received the same type of bronze 3646 case today for my first project. It takes a 6497 movement I think. These are some pictures (the Ebay seller is based in Germany). Does anyone know if you can use files or wet dry sandpaper to shape a bronze case? Or will it just ruin the finish?

nje2791 that finish is just a brushed one.

You can go ahead and use anything you want without issues although you need to use fine grit emerypaper/sandpaper to achieve the original finish.

As I can see, the bronze is already tarnished/oxidated naturally, you might it give some time after sanding to get the same results.

Thanks Emilio - do you or anyone else recognise the source of the case?

Sometimes, factories sell sterile stock to private parties. My guess is China, in general.

But this bronze is good.
