The quality of homage any of us could create with the kind of money panerai has would put any of their best attempts to shame.
It boggles my mind how bad they are at designing their watches to be honest. The case shapes are all inferior to their vintage counter parts, the aesthetic suffers from too much clutter on the dials, the colors they choose are almost never complementary, I could go on...
There have been very few models I actually like, the original bronzo was close to being an excellent effort but even then it could have been better.
It took me learning about the work done by the hommage community and learning about the real history of panerai before I actually became a fan of the brand.
That being said I would never choose a gen modern panerai over a high quality homage build.
My 2 cents for what their worth.

I got my pam 372 rep soon after being bitten by the vintage pam bug.And the more I became involved in this hobby the more I realized how inferior the new editions looked compared to the high quality homages.
