Are my eyes fooling me or did one of the teeth on the gear partially break off?

Yes, it looks that way, it may have been damaged from the beginning, it pointed towards the middle as it was and nothing I noticed before.

Yes, it looks that way, it may have been damaged from the beginning, it pointed towards the middle as it was and nobody saw it before.

Yes, a teeth had been sanded down partially, it is not broken, and fortunately it fulfills its function well. ☺
