I recently purchased a keywind sf240. I cannot unscrew the knob that moves the hands.
I unscrew counterclockwise and screw loosens but doesn’t pull out. I do not want to hurt the movement.
What is the trick here?

Re: SF 240 Keywhind help
I figured it out. Had to hold the knob still while removing screw.
Two broken teeth on the ratchet wheel. Is this a big deal? Is there any other movements that have the same size wheel?
Now I just need to figure out what to do with the movement. I bought it for a low price.
-Might keep it for spare parts.
-Though about servicing, shorten pivots, putting in a case and winding with a key.
-stem conversion
Let me if you have any suggestions.

Hamilton 917/921 ratchet wheel should fit just fine. Or even Unitas 6497/98 one, but I have to check first.

You are looking at around $800 for a full conversion.mountaineer wrote: ↑November 29th, 2021, 9:34 pm I figured it out. Had to hold the knob still while removing screw.
