Movement ring should be very thin, about 0.4 to 0.5 mm, if I remember correctly...
You can try to put pieces of old mainspring bet3case and movement to determine right thickens, cos' measuring with caliper can mislead you...

Easiest/cheapest/fastest way is to use 6497 movement holder. You just need to remove 0.35-0.40mm from it.
6497 is 36.60mm and H917 is 37.30.
