I'll let you know once lockdown is over, it should work out ok as long as I did the hypo cement on the plexi ok and didn't end up with any gaps around its circumference,Aikidosan wrote:Nice touch with the lead gasketsAlhig72 wrote: ↑April 10th, 2020, 10:12 am Aged a set of river hands and made up some fluffy lume to match the dow dial, also added some lead gaskets and sealed the plexi with hypo cement, soldered the crown tube from the inside and greased the crown and tube gaskets,
I'll have to wait until lockdown is over to have it pressure tested but the same thing has worked out well on the other 3646 builds that I did this on
Sent from my LYA-L09 using TapatalkI tried to do that with a 3646 I once had, but could only get one of the gaskets on. The movement holder was a few threads short of allowing me to install both.
Please let us know how the pressure test goes
Get the plexi in as soon as you put the thin bead of cement in the bezel channel as it dries quite quickly and then turn the plexi a quarter turn just so its spread round without gaps, sometimes you have to re do this several times to get it right, the rest is pretty fool proof,
This one is ok to 100m
