How is the seagull 1963? I’ve looked at those on and off for years but never pulled the trigger. One of my favorite watches in rotation now is stainless San Martin. I’m itching for a bronze one now.

This one has been on my list for quite a while, love the look. How do you like it? Does it wear nice on the wrist?

Mine is the acrylic crystal version with display back. Having read numerous reviews of this version and the sapphire crystal version I really preferred the taller crystal this one gives along with the distortion when looking at it at an angle.

Issues are...
1. It has nearly no water resistance. I have a tester...

It wouldn't even pass a 3 bar test. A steady stream of bubbles came shooting out of the bottom pusher. I have not had problems wearing it in the rain. I wouldn't even take it in the pool though. It is the only watch I own that won't pass a 3 bar test.
2. If you push the start pusher too lightly you can actually stop the time telling second hand. Even knowing that I did it once and had to smack the watch around some to get it running again. I haven't done that since.

That said I love it! With a full wind it runs 53 hours. It started out running 4 seconds fast per day and has settled in to a very consistent 1 second fast per day. The feel of a mechanical chronograph is pure joy imo. I love how the dial seems almost chameleon like in different light. It wears great. I didn't care for it on the nato it came with but it was great on a milanese and tropic. My favorite so far is a two piece green nylon.

Really, testing the watch in water? Mine is a vacuum tester.

Mine was rather inexpensive. I use it this way.
1. Watch is above water. Apply pressure. Mine can go up to 6 bar.
2. Let sit for about 5 minutes.
3. Drop pressure to under 1 bar.
4. Lower watch into water. If it isn't sealed properly you can then see from where as a stream of bubbles will be coming out.
