Yoda wrote: June 5th, 2019, 1:52 pm I looked in my books, it appears to be a 1940s Jaeger LeCoultre calibre 202. The 202 was also made with triple complications like day, date and month.
But this one is good, simple and working well.
Thanks for looking it up Michael. I had no idea of the decade it was made I just wanted a non alarm, crown winding movement I could study. I wind it just once a week and it looses about 3 minutes a week.
No problem, it was fun to do some research.

Did you service the movement? It should be able to do +/- 30 seconds a week.
By the way, did you leave the old leather be underneath?
Case material, nickel on brass?

I disassembled the movement and put parts into my ultrasonic cleaner, lightly oiled and reassembled. I did this a few months ago to help educate myself on movements. Last night I adjusted the regulator a notch faster so I will see if it stays more accurate.
I removed the old leather down to the wood and metal that make up the case. The dial I believe is copper it is in great shape.
Here is a picture with some of the leather removed.

how big is that movement? id want to fit that into a 6152-1
Mike777 wrote: June 5th, 2019, 11:03 am Have a few vintage clocks that I got to practice working on movements.

This one had the leather burnt and was needing cleaned up. So I disassembled it polished all the metal and replaced the leather. It looks a lot better to me and still retained the vintage look.

It does not say on the dial ... would these companies have used Radium or Tritium on these old travel clocks?

I'm always wary taking these old clocks apart ... well, I guess if you don't eat or lick the lume, it's ok :D

That’s the thing, when you just hold some dangerous stuff, it’s when your eyes and nose get itchy. Image

It’s around 42mm in diameter and thicker than a watch movement. Would not fit in a 6152 case.
