Land Rovers

Post by neckyzips »

so... over the years i have had a few fun cars... porsche 911, series rover, porsche 914, mgbgt, buick 225 convertible, range rover classic, first gen miata set up for track days, and the current bmw wagon (i LOVE) first bmw ...
but we have the miata, the old f250 380k on the clock, old '99 merc wagon, they need to go to lesson the burden of old cars, and be replaced with one 4wd suv that can take pulling a heavy sail boat and keep my standing at the marina by helping the owner pull a mini ex and larger boats around locally.

of course my go to is the later model Range Rover HSE i have lusted after those fins since the first one! but... the bmw v8 scares me and the newer ones i can not afford... anyway while doing my instagram thing this morning i ran across these guys, kinda local and look what they have!!!!

thanks to https://www.cwclassics.com/inventory/19 ... sic-200tdi in advance for letting me repost your photo!

another rover i have had wet dreams about, yes i know its not sexy, its not practical, and its way out of my price range, but just look at it!!!!

anyway if any of you have an idea about an suv that will fit that bill let me know. as for the truck, since we do not have trash pick up here and everything gets burned (really bad!) or hauled to the dump i have a 1970 c10 i traded a dirt bike for that is just perfect for that task and gathering building materials, and can have antique tags so no more inspection hassles.

Anyways, H3 or any Toyota 4WD will last longer than the UK things.

Toyota land cruiser/Lexus lx450 (same vehicle, Lexus just has luxury interior).

They are a legend for a reason.

Would be me #1 SUV pick. Diesel is also a bonus if you can find one. People do some pretty awesome diesel conversions on these things.

I have a 1972 Toyota FJ40 that I love so much. Problem is the price for FJ40's has gotten crazy....unless you find a diamond in the rough.

Look for an Infiniti FX 50 AWD with the 5 litre V8, 2009 with around 100K are around 10K, but it may have too many creature comforts for you. Not really sure about towing capacity, but fantastic power and handling with a bulletproof drivetrain.

I miss our old Range Rover. Epsom green over tan leather. 1999. Bought it for my wife and we drove it everywhere, through everything. Sold it with 200k miles on it to my nephew who daily drives it still. It had the 4.0l V8. I really, really miss it.
