I have been thinking of posting about this for a good while and now I happened to look at the document again.
I keep a record of all watches and movements I have worked on.
I think it was late 2016, or early 2017 when Erlendh contacted me about a brass table clock his mother had in her possession. He asked if I wanted it....how could I possibly say no. I say no to very few things.
So, it turned up here, the brass was of course quite dark from age. I let it be for a while, I had a plan for it, but I just didn't have the energy to do a complete restoration then.
One lazy Sunday afternoon I eventually pulled it out and started working on it, an 8 days Junghans Meister. The movement was in pristine condition, blued screws and nickle plated movement. It was a gift to Anders Halvorsen Western (1888-1956) on 1953-12-31 according to the inscription on the inside of the back cover.
He was the CEO at Margarincentralen between 1939 and1953, it is Agra in Oslo today. Agra owns Foodmark Sweden with HQ in Sundbyberg 10 kilometers from Stockholm.

Some of you know that I live in Sundbyberg.
I finished the restoration 2017-03-19.
It is a small world and this one sort of came back home. Thanks Erlendh.

Wow that's a great story and nice clock.
I really like the design of the hands.
Please show us the movement

I was thinking about that, but the movement is behind a cover over the winding and setting knobs, which in turn is behind a brass plate secured with 8 screws.

It’s a great story! The only sad part to me is that the family sold it/ let the clock go.

It sure is! Even more special because he passed the same year I was born...history sometimes has its strange ways.
If I am not very much mistaken, I think that the story goes like this: everything from way back then was stored and Erlendh's mother somehow happened to end up having this table clock in her possession when they cleaned out everything, and as she wasn't interested in keeping it, well...
I will let Erlendh chime in with more details, I may have missed something.
I did think of offering the clock to the family, but Erlendh thought that I should keep it. So here it is. Today, I am not letting it go!

Do not let Michael ever escape.
Fate sometimes plays with us.
Not too long ago, a great friend of mine, who also called himself Miguel, made for me a bronze welding job for lugs 3646. Over time, I sold that watch, and chances of fate, returned to me in the same week as my friend passed away. I always wanted to get my watch back, but I did not stay ...
