This one looks promising! It’s different than the San Martin case, a little thicker, different caseback and the lever doesn’t have the roller, but I’ve been really happy with the Steeldive watches I’ve bought. I’m guessing the interior dimensions of the case will be big enough for at least a 616, hopefully a 6497 (judging on the crystal diameter).

Agreed- shape looks good, cg lever needs a bit of work but at least it will be well put together. Slap on a solid caseback and get the files out, could be an interesting daily beater

At 200 Euros it might make sense, but at the current price + milling + engraving + custom expensive dial + hands just to end up with a noticeably weaker version of a bronze 127/217/375/1080 i doubt there will be many buyers, imo.

I like SD ... love my 1903S bronze pilot and the beefy SD1964 , but for quite some time now their prices on bronze pieces are too high, sometimes higher than originals with better specs and details.

Agreed price should drop to make it a viable base for building

It comes with automatic movement that has a different stem offset.
Will need a thicker dial, so tall tube hands.
And yes, milling for a bigger movement.
Too expensive...

It’s tempting to get one and drop one of the old bronze Omega auto movements in

What reference is that omega movement again?

If manual wind, the 960 (Omega version of the 6497) would look excellent if it fits. For autos, the 500 series that went in the Seamaster is solid and isn’t too expensive.. I think my choice would be one of the 300 series bumpers with the small seconds- make it a destro case with the small seconds at 12 like the bomb timers.

Damn, I may have just talked myself into getting one
