I hear exactly what Marco means. I build €110.000 objects over a year, which are one-offs. If you offer me €90.000 I almost worked for free. It's an insult. What are people thinking? That it costs €20.000 in parts, shop rental, electricity and labor and there is €90.000 to negotiate?
The worst "client" was a person asking me for 3 copies, but wanted a 30% discount. It's not that I can build 3 in 2 years, and with 2/3rds of the parts. Plus, my country has a 10% inflation pa.
Similar with watches.
While in business it's a norm that you bill 100% more than cost, hardly anyone here makes even 10% when building a watch, or strap, or a dial.
