Re: A canteene
Thanks for sharing!
How does it feel on wrist?
I am afraid I will try to build one with a “epoque” dial
Best,
M.

Do you mean that you managed to totally erase the dial logo?
Good job, it's invisible on photo
Which kind of alcohol do you use? Isopropropylic?

Re: A canteene
The former picture was taken with low light. In fact the dial I bought is blue. I had not found the black dial yet.
I erased the SEIKO logo with a toothpick soaked with ethyl alcohol bought in a pharmacy. It easily removed the Seiko logo. I had much less luck removing the word "automatic", as I removed some of the blue color from the dial. I botched it up with a blue marker.
Here you have photos with natural light and with macro.
When the light falls at a certain angle, and with macro, you can see the failures.
I have already ordered the dial in black to change it. And I will not use a toothpick, but one with cotton and very carefully.

Re: A canteene
Thanks for details,
I'll give it a try with a pointy coton Q tip.
For your dial, a slight aging, and a clear varnish spray could help to hide the logo ghost image.
How does it wear on the wrist? this long crown is not to uncorfortable on the top of your hand?

It is comfortable, being large and rounded, it does not hurt the hand.Fizzzz wrote: ↑December 29th, 2022, 8:11 am Thanks for details,
