Hello!

Post by atespo »

Hello all. Joined this forum a few years ago but was never really into homages or vintage builds until recently.

I’ve been in the rep game for many, many years, it brings me back to about 2002/2003 when I got my first rep at a flea market and my first Pam style watch was by a guy who owned/started “lumtec”, it was a 44mm luminor style case with a custom dial and blue lume (if i can find a photo of it I’ll be sure to come back and add it. From there I fell in love with panerai and it’s been one of my favorite brands. I’ve owned a handful of genuine panerai along with a bunch of reps. I’ve been slowly losing interest in reps and more into vintage or custom builds based on panerai cases (luminor, 1940, 1950, etc).

I’m here to find some cool builds and learn good suppliers so I can source parts and start building my own stuff.

Great to be here and looking forward to talking with you all.

Welcome! It’s a good idea to allocate half of your budget to tools. Also, don’t be discouraged by minor setbacks (accidental scratches, broken or lost parts, etc..), the learning curve seems steep initially, but experience adds up pretty quick. It’s really a wonderful hobby.
