Italianos, oysters, pilots and others…
not so sure which of the sections, probably none except the others.
And the other in this case is my homage of a RN 1967 Seamaster 300.
Ingredients:
Case Set:
Vietnamese 1:1 (like the ones unscrupulous sellers at ebay present as genuine)
Crystal:
Original hesalite (notice the omega logo stamped at the center of the crystal)
Movement:
Omega cal. 520
Hands:
a mix of proveniences, with age treatment and lume done to match the dial.
Bezel insert:
plexi ring cut and reverse engraved by @Athaya from my vector file (thanks Adrian!) and lume filled, painted, sealed, fitted, sanded and polished by myself.
Dial: I did it with gen specs. Original dial is 27.4mm so I recycled a base plate with three perforations; center hole plus smaller ones at 12 (big triangle) and 6 o’clock.
Lume is a “tritium” mix of luminova, color pigment and silicate sand, engulfed in uv resin (dspiae) for better control of volume and with optimal surface tension for that effect.
Details all there, such as the micro pits in the big triangle and 6 o’clock marker.
Enjoy.
Best,
Marco

What a build!
"Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black."

Re: Royal Navy’s Vintage Seamaster 300
PS- some notes in ageing.
My ageing processes are not intended to conclude in pictures but to give an overall feeling of age; subtle therefore.
There is a very thin line separating an homage from a caricature so I try to avoid the second at all costs.
The most difficult parts to age are hands and I have seen many who sand and scratch them in order to make them look old and used.
From my experience, it is rare to see an old watch with damaged hands unless they were object of aggression.
On the other hand, steel aftermarket hands are plated which makes the sanding even more tricky.
For that reason, in the case of “steel” hands, chemicals are the way to go and the kind of ageing is in my humble opinion, more realistic and subtle.
