6105 Voltes V

Tonight I'd like to share with you one of my latest Seiko builds based on a 6105 Capt.Willard case with an interesting smooth bezel and blue AR sapphire crystal.
The side profile of this case reminded me of one of those UFO flying discs from the fifties so I thought the Japan mecha dial would suit the build just nicely.
Build is finished with a colourful set of hands from ebay and a leather NATO strap with red and blue stitching. Beating inside a rock solid NH35 movement.
A few background notes regarding the dial: The mecha robot itself is Bandai's Voltes V, it was a blast when I saw the dial as it brought up good memories from my childhood. The OAV was released in 1977 by Toei Animation/Studio Sunrise as the second chapter of the Romance robot trilogy and still is a very enjoyable story thanks to its plot vaguely inspired by the french revoultion. Imho it is worth a try for those of you who are interested in mecha animation and did not know about it.

Hope you enjoyed
