Nice color and cheap price.

I’m always skeptical about these PVD treatments on movements:
Movements plates are usually electroplated, before jewels assembly, but here
see that the jewels and incabloc spring are blacken as well.
This means that they have blacken the whole plate “as is” ☹
I wouldn’t like to service this one…
You’re right, the jewels and Inca spring look pvd’d… I wonder if it would even run properly :wtf:

I just finished rebuilding one like this, a 587K. These are really well made and a delight to work on! I would put the build and finish quality above Rolex, Zenith and Omega of the same era.

They are smaller than a Cortebert or 6497, around 33 or 33.5 mm. On the down side you would need to get a custom dial made. On the up side you can squeeze it into smaller cases. Would work well for a mini Marinez Egi project case like the one kp0y can do.

The one you’ve linked doesn’t have shock protection, so it’ll be more prone to breaking if you bump it into something hard. The shock protected version is the Incaflex, and you can see the small extra arm next to the regulator.

Holy balls the price! I mean, maybe that’s what they go for but just looking at an auction with that $$ gives me anxiety

By the way, the watch doesn’t work. It has to issues.

José from Peresztroika gave me this answer when I asked him if there is something fishy with this watch:
“I know this watch. I think it’s alright, although the movement retaining ring appears to be from an earlier batch. Could be some weird overlapping during production or maybe the ring lost its plating during a cleaning.”

I’ve always been on the fence when it comes to high value vintage. Something unique, rare or very cool that can be had for a couple hundred bucks? Sure! But a highly valuable piece of history would give me anxiety

In my opinion, José is the Indiana Jones of horology. From what I can tell the big auction houses will say anything to sell anything, but he knows what’s up. I do wonder sometimes if he’s taking detailed notes on the home brew homage scene. Often when the names of builders here are listed in the details of an auction on eBay or the like, the sale price seems to go higher than an anonymous build.
