I remember when I was a teen my dad complaining that servicing his Sub at Rolex cost as much as buying his Sub. Granted he bought it in the 70's and serviced it in the 90's.
If only Rolex were $500 again

I have a friend who bought a Rolex in 1969 and had one for free, apparently they were hard to sell around that time.
