subdial spacing on Seagull ST19 vs Venus 175

Post by charmquark »

Does anyone know if the spacing between the second and minute sub-dials changed when Seagull put the movement in production or is it the same as when it was a Venus back in the old days? I ask because I'd like to look out for old dials I could put into a Chinese case and movement.

I would give up completely. I believe the Venus is predecessor to Valjoux.

Below is a build I did with either a valjoux 72 or 7730(?) dial on a st 19 movement.

You can slightly widen the chrono holes if necessary.

Start with a cheap dial.

pvirus did this custom dial for an st19.

The price of vintage dials has gone up.
Custom dials are competitively priced and it will fit movement and case.

Does anyone know the exact spacing measurement? I know that they're asymmetric and I could not find any info. Thanks
