Well i dont think there should be any connection. Maybe in 1950 was some event back them ,no info on that,

Besides the fun or joke part ,the only strange thing is that the typeset of the engraving is very similar or engraving machines had few typesets back then.

....well this knife has some historry after all but not Pam related of course.

it was made by an American surgical steel company in OHIO and reproduced today!

The date still remains a mystery...unless they made one every year!

According to their website, the Christy sliding blade knife has been manufactured by hand with the original equipment since 1936. Still made in Fremont, Ohio it takes 53 separate operations to create the knife. Alou may be right that the date is some significant event for the company: an email to them may elicit an answer. Clever design.

Might do that ,yeah its pretty good knife ,when i fist found it in 1985 i was still in high school and being without funds i used it allot for scale models i used to make back then.Didn't have the money for a proper X-Acto blade who was the "king"back then.
As you can see it tool a beating and yet there it is today almost 40 years after ,and almost 70+ after it was made!
I am thinking of buying a new one !
