Wow!

Do you use hard blinds at home?

Some northern countries don't and I don't understand why.

Yoda wrote: May 28th, 2020, 3:02 pm Now comes the time when it is bright all the time, the sun goes down around 10 o'clock in the evening and it will rise again around 3 o'clock.

The peak will be when it goes down closer to 11 o'clock and when it goes up again around 2 o'clock...sunglasses on when you sleep...
That must be very inconvenient without some special window covering.I remember when I first heard about that issue when I was watching the thriller Insomnia (2002) with Al Pacino and Robin Williams which is set in a small time in Alaska.

Summer is usually when we hit the road or do a flight to some cooler place. I’m not looking forward to months of 100F / 38C plus days.

At least I’m far south enough that I still have decent dark hours at least.

Mostly all the houses have this kind of roller shutter blinds in Spain.
They work pretty well for hiding the external light

Yoda wrote: May 29th, 2020, 7:24 am The longest day this year is on the 21st of June, the sun will rise at 03:32 and set at 22:06. Pretty short night and pretty long day.
Still, the sun does not set completely this time of the year, you don't need any artificial light at night.

The bright nights are not far away now, that means that you can see clearly in the middle of the night for around 6-7 weeks, it will not be much darker than on a cloudy day.

If you go to the polar circle the sun is up all the time during this period, that is when it is really hard to sleep.
On the other hand it is almost dark all the time around mid December up there.
