Yea, one could imagine
But M, we are doing vintagized builds her
To keep to the truth, as usual, every time you do something new, you have to do something you have not mastered.
In order to chemically blacken the dial I polished it down to 0.5 micrometer grit with the result that after blackening the surface looked like mirror-polished steel. The regrinding on 1000 grit reduced the shine, but depending on the angle you see the grooves.
The dial still lacks the final coating of varnish which I expect to smooth out the grooves.
And then, the original is just 33 mm across. Nobody will notice this under the crystal.

Re: My dial work
So, it was in fact a chinchilla running around there?
I once had a chinchilla, back in the 1970s, he jumped my record player and messed up a record and a pick up...

I do my best to rescue old cases and movements and you guys completely destroy hands, cases, straps, buckles and leave movements looking as if they went down with Titanic! Hehe!
Kidding! As you were!
