Took me a minute looking at that watch to figure out what I was looking at. Very cool mechanism for telling the time. I like how when an hour reaches 60 minutes the next hour is also on zero at the same time. Very creative concept.

What is the "oil change" sub dial for? A countdown for getting the watch serviced?

Yes! The "Oil Change" sub dial is to tell you when the watch need a servicing! A great feature to have I think.
