Custom engraved dials - sign-up / templates

Post by rmcsherry »

Firstly: I'm very excited to be part of the new HF forum and a big thank you to the mods for inviting me to have my own sponsor area - apologies it's taken so long to get a topic together!

A quick introduction. I make custom engraved dials, supplied in bare metal - these are typically 0.25-0.30mm brass, but can be other metals (Stainless Steel). Orders are processed in batches - I'll always aim to advise my best guess of turn-around times for each enquiry, typically around 4 weeks.

I don't offer painting or lume services, and I don't produce dials with brand names on (perhaps with the exception of a one-off pocket watch redial).

I can create completely custom artwork, but for simplicity, I have shown some ofthe most popular dial styles below - these can be made in any size, with combinations of cutout indices and engraved text as required.

I'd like to create a sign-up thread for dial orders, the next batch closing for orders on 29th July '16.

Prices are as follows:
- 1 dial: £21 each
- Any 3+ dials: £19 each
- Any 10+ dials: £16.50 each

2-piece 'sandwich' dials are an extra £7 each, the bottom layer may include engraving / cutouts.
Postage is £3 for regular airmail, £8 if you require tracking & a signature.
Payment is made via paypal once the dial has been manufactured and is ready to ship.

HOW TO ORDER:
1. Specify dial diameter / movement you'll be using
2. Chooose a dial design from below, or suggest a variation or a completely custom design
3. Specify any engraving you'd like on the dial (words or pictures)
4. Decide if small seconds are required
5. Contact me with your requirements and I'll provide proof artwork before proceeding with a custom order!

Here are some templates for various popular dials - engraving / additional cutouts can be added with ease, each dial is custom made to order.

Here's how a typical brass unpainted dial looks before painting (there are plenty of topics on the forums for how to paint engraved dials):

Critical dimensions when specifying a dial (visible dial area isn't an essential measurement, but is useful, particularly on unusual cases):
