Thanks for the help.

Assuming everything is working what would be a fare price to buy it?

SF240, SW, no doubt about that.

Price, hard to say, they sell from $500 and up.

That's a good deal, especially if it ends up having shock protection. Very little required to achieve a full conversion. Bridge plate, ratcheting winding pinion/clutch wheel, crown wheel, intermediate wheel.

Or it can just be used as is with the alarm components left alone.

Need to think about this.
I was going for the 3646 build but buying this one will change things a little bit.

it is a SF240 ... what year and what type of 240 ... you will have to take off the back cover.

Here's a 240 I could've bought for $500 yesterday, but passed on: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Angelus-Swis ... 7675.l2557

It depends on the movement. Condition? Incabloc or not? Brushed or geneva stripes? Working?

€600 is ... well, if you a get a movement like the non-working one above, you overpaid. (But you can probably offload it for $500-ish, as someone was willing to pay that for the one above). If it's an incabloc, brushed finish, no patina and working, it's a great deal.

I have every variation listed below and I would say wide cdg is probably the nicest finish you can get for these 240s...

I would rank them like this:

1.wide cdg
2.brushed
3.narrow cdg
4.engraved with any brand other than angelus

That being said any movement can have the engravings filled, re-engraved and re-finished in any manner you wish.

The two most important and desirable traits to look for are shock protection and keyless works.
