Plan to make everything as gen as possible, it will be brass and nickle plated.

I plan to make the dial too, along with the hands. For 6204/5 dial, only Minh that I know selling it, so me trying to make one will be a good additional. I still discuss it with the factory if they can do early subs dial processing which quite different from newer dial.

there are lots of A260 movements out there

I was under impression that all those bezels were originally brass ... or nickel plated brass. The stainless versions were later "service" bezels?

Any interest if you will do a James bond Big Crown Sub 6538 ... to accept 1030 movement ? Those movements are pretty accessible out there as well.
Yes old subs bezel is Nickel plated brass. Stainless steel is service bezels.

Actually it’s 6538 that I want to make first years ago, but haven’t got any chance to start it. And when having this 6204 case, I think I need to start with this one, the 1st Submariner from Rolex, 6538 can wait. [emoji4]

This is awesome news Adrian, I'm looking forward to try the first one when you release them.

Hearing you plan to make other references too is also very exciting.
You already have it for sure use but I though this quick reference could be useful

6204 tropic 16 5.3 mm crown cal a260
6205 tropic 16 6.0 mm crown cal a260
6200 tropic 17 6.0 mm crown cal a296
6538 tropic 17 8.0 mm crown cal 1030
6536 tropic 17 6.0 mm crown cal 1030
6536/1 tropic 16 6.0 mm crown cal 1030
5510 same as 6538 but for cal 1530
5508 same as 6536/1 but for cal 1530

Dial is crucial.in this project, you can try Ruby for real gilt dials sold way cheaper than Minh Quy.
Rubyswatch.com

She might not have the specific 6204 one but you might use one of her 6538 or 5512 dials to reverse engineer the way they're made.

Well noted. Thank u

Yes dial is important since only few that make one, I had check minh’s but still need some improvement.

All Minh’s old subs dial including 6204’s only has 27mm diameter, while gen one is 27.7mm. Having only 27mm diameter won’t sit nicely on the gen case.

This is the dial production procedure that I still discuss with the factory, yes it’s not efficient for nowadays, but result will be very nice if can make it using this way.

Super interested in this - if you manage to manufacture a gen-spec dial that would be absolutely amazing!
