?? Suppliers locally ??

not sure what you mean/asking. Suppliers in Australia are expensive and accuracy is a word they do not understand. Suppliers in Orange, I would not give the heat from my excreta. Yes it is this bad. All the propaganda that is pumped out is just that. We cannot even make a bottle top to save ourselves. But we are really good at selling our land to foreigners....

Hope I have guessed correctly.

2019-10-30: Attaché Box V2 -

Finally got the engineering plastic. To keep weight down we are trialling UHMWPE. They did not do it as I said, but as most in Australia - she'll be right mate. She will not be right "mate". So another round of testing with the right piece, the right size, milled all the way through,.....

It has gone from 6kg to 4.3kg, so that is good.

I may make it slight smaller. Before that I will cut out some more little hexagons to save some weight.

Soon mass production pricing and the colour and exact material sorted.

Thank you.

Just a short update on the case, that should have finished mass production mid-March.

Well not much. I asked 2 factories in China for samples in 2019. Now they are almost back, and the samples are still in progress. I asked many AU fabricators and they all could not do it, could not supply the POM (Acetyl) would not do it, or were too expensive.

Soon… I am now looking into other more sustainable materials….any suggestions????

It needs to be light, machinable and able to machine a thread – last one is a wish…. I will still the aluminium as that is recyclable.

Maybe an Aluminum Honeycomb Panel? Some thing similar to these.

The aerospace industry has a number of honey comb panels like this. Some have an aluminum skin with a fiber type honeycomb core. Some have composite skins.

You may have an issue with your cutout areas. You may need to use a potting compound after cutting the cut out and then mill the cutout into the potting compound. Or possible plastic (injection molded) inserts to press into the cutout areas.

Mate!!!!

Great ideas. I know what you mean about milling the honeycomb. But the Balsa Sandwich could be the answer – provided the aluminium is thick enough.

Thank you.

There is no final product. All production stopped for Christmas/CNY and then Corona. The box is as it was on the first page of the post.

Always here is help you with an OWC Fix…. Email me – foxint@foxint.com.au.

My wife (to be ex) is in addition to the Cold War is putting in economic sanctions. Now her money is her money and all the expenses now are mine.

Being OCD, I have a spread sheet that should fix her plan…ha-ha

Seriously, happy to make a deal on what I have in stock….
