So, here I am now, the "cork"
My grandmother called me a cork, because I always seemed to float and emerge after being "dipped".
I get sentimental from time to time, this is one of those times.
I remember that I sat on her bed at the hospital, this was 1982, she was 94 and she said: "never stop floating Michael". I held her hand when she passed, the family wasn't up to the "task"
It reminds me of the fact that I miss too many people...
Well, it worked, and here I am, floating.
I won't bother you with the details, but I went to THSOL (The hard school of life) and made it.
Guess that I have been lucky so far, l have had one beautiful family and now I have another, the cork thing strikes again.
It has never been easy, but with a bit of patience and perseverance many things will be in the rear mirror after a while.

A good friend of mine loves to say that there is a reason why the windshield is so much bigger than the rear view mirror.

Michael your comment about putting things in the rear view made me think of that statement again.

The "cork" may temporarily have absorbed a little water...

Yesterday I realised that this whole thing, my illness, being checked, treatment and medication, has started to really take its toll on me.
I think that recovery will take a little more time than I expected. I went to bed at 10:00 last night and didn't wake up before 08:00 this morning....
