A gloss dial with gold writings is always attractive. Even on a steel case like the gilt era Rolex watches.

I once did an extensive restoration on a pie pan, steel case and silver dial. When I returned it the owner didn't get it was his, his wife was even more surprised. These are cool and timeless.
He offered me to buy the pie pan, but it was a bit out of my budget there and then, even if he cut of several hundreds of dollars for me. I will have to regret that for the the rest of my life.
