If I had noticed these when they came, I would've gotten one (if possible). I'm gonna be on the lookout for FS posts now. But I'm torn between the two. Speedmaster or Seamaster? Lemania-based manuel or auto co-axial? Same price, pretty much. I know I just said the Seamaster 300 was my fav, but I hadn't noticed this special edition Speedmaster version, the design is perfect imo, a lot nicer than the moon watch. The bracelet is a lot nicer than the modern verison. No crown guard is a big plus (i think CG ruins the look). Also, the 39 mm case size (on both) is perfect for me (vs 41 and 42 mm on the normal editions). The design is pretty much same as the originals launched in 1957, 60th anniversary edition.

Droooool...

This was my Grandfather's Omega Seamaster De Ville
Presented to him after working 25yrs with IBM
ImageImage

He used to wear it with a metal stretch watch band that liked to pinch arm hairs. By a stroke of luck I found the original buckle and manual when going through his possessions after his death. Replaced the stretch band with a Fendi leather strap and the original buckle. Also replaced the plexiglass as it was scratched beyond polishing.

He was a safety systems engineer for IBM and was farmed out to NASA most of his career. I have a bunch of memorabilia in storage including mission patches from all the space missions he worked on. Some day when I dust it all off I'll take some photos and put it up on the forum.
